“A Wish Come True”

IMG_1062

I was out of the house for quite a while on Monday night for the monthly meeting at the firehouse. Upon returning home, after 9:30, Tony was still awake and Enzo was relaxing in his swing.

Mommy had promised Tony that he could stay up until Daddy got home, but once I was home, it would be time for bed. For once, Tony did not argue heading upstairs.

I walked through the door and told Tony it was time for a diaper change and for him to say goodnight to Mommy and Baby Enzo.

I went upstairs to put clean sheets on his mattress and asked Mommy to send him up after he said goodnight. Tony, as usual, conned his mother into carrying him up the stairs.

This kid could run for office right now if he wanted and would win an election by a landslide with his smooth talking. He is always conning others into carrying him around, picking him up or doing things for him even though he can do so on his own.

Sorry for getting off-track here, now back to the story at hand.

Mommy brought Tony up to his room where I was waiting. He was latched onto her pretty tight as she told me a story from earlier in the night.

Here is the conversation Mommy had with Tony:

“I was sitting on the floor changing his diaper and he was being incredibly cute, saying all sorts of adorable things to me. I got a little teary-eyed and Tony said, ‘Mommy, you are a wish come true.'”

“And Daddy is a wish come true. Enzo is a wish come true. And Phoebe is a wish come true.”

“Where did you learn that?”

“Donald Duck was a genie and everyone said ‘a wish come true.'”

Tony loves the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episode called Donald the Genie.

It seems as though he was waiting for the perfect time to drop this line on someone in the family and he dropped it on Mommy.

You really cannot make this stuff up and I think we need to start recording everything he says because some of it is too funny.
