Tony Breaks Down Leaving Ocean City

Tony Breaks Down Leaving Ocean City

Enzo

The Vassallo clan spent Memorial Day weekend 2015 in Ocean City, cleaning the house, organizing the garage and getting the house ready for another summer season.

Tony and Enzo had a blast, with Enzo enjoying the breeze as he sit and lay in his Pack N’ Play near the open front deck door. Tony played with toys he hadn’t seen in a year and talked to all of the neighbors. Tony even got to help Miss Charlotte and Mr. Glen, our neighbors, walk their golden retrievers, Ruby and Murphy.

Aunt Kathy decided a couple of months ago that she wanted to surprise Uncle Pete with a 30th birthday party at a Camden Riversharks game.

There were some 30 people at the party, including both Tony and Enzo. It was Enzo’s first baseball game. Tony went to a Phillies game back in 2013 for his first.

Firetruck Toddler Bed

Saturday turned out to be the perfect day to put together the toddler firetruck bed that Nonna bought for Tony.

Mommy and Nonna took Tony and Enzo to Palmyra Day, where the boys got to see real firetrucks and ambulances. Tony also got to play in some bounce houses.

While everyone was out, I spent the morning putting together the firetruck bed and dismantling Tony’s beloved crib.

When everyone returned home, Tony was told to stay downstairs while Nonna put the Paw Patrol sheets and comforter on the bed.

It was just four months ago when Tony opened one last gift on Christmas morning. It was a gift bag with a bike helmet in it. Tony even said, “Hey, it’s a bike helmet. But, I don’t have a bike.”

He rode the bike, with help, a little bit that day. Then again a couple of other times on warm days throughout the winter, which there were not many.

The next time he really had a chance to ride the bike was Saturday night after a long day at the shore. We came home from Ocean City, lit the chiminea, opened two Corona Lights, I lit a cigar and the boys enjoyed the warm weather.

Doo Dah Parade

The 30th Annual Doo Dah Parade was held this past weekend in Ocean City and Tony and Enzo got to enjoy every minute of it.

The Doo Dah Parade includes floats, classic cars, bands, Santa Claus, grand marshal Mama Dietz (owner of Dietz and Watson) and hundreds of basset hounds.

We went to the parade last year, obviously with just Tony, so this year was fun since Enzo was with us. He sat up in his stroller and watched as the floats and the dogs strolled down the boards.
