Tony Can Ride a Bike All By Himself

It was just four months ago when Tony opened one last gift on Christmas morning. It was a gift bag with a bike helmet in it. Tony even said, “Hey, it’s a bike helmet. But, I don’t have a bike.”

He rode the bike, with help, a little bit that day. Then again a couple of other times on warm days throughout the winter, which there were not many.

The next time he really had a chance to ride the bike was Saturday night after a long day at the shore. We came home from Ocean City, lit the chiminea, opened two Corona Lights, I lit a cigar and the boys enjoyed the warm weather.

Doo Dah Parade

The 30th Annual Doo Dah Parade was held this past weekend in Ocean City and Tony and Enzo got to enjoy every minute of it.

The Doo Dah Parade includes floats, classic cars, bands, Santa Claus, grand marshal Mama Dietz (owner of Dietz and Watson) and hundreds of basset hounds.

We went to the parade last year, obviously with just Tony, so this year was fun since Enzo was with us. He sat up in his stroller and watched as the floats and the dogs strolled down the boards.

Sunday was Easter, as almost everyone in the world knows, but it still helps to write that down as part of the story.

Tony and Enzo wore matching outfits and the boys behaved while in church.

It was a day filled with jelly beans, chocolate and a lot of food.

We had brunch at great Mom-Mom’s house after church, where Tony and Enzo each received Easter baskets filled with candy.

A couple of weeks ago, Tony suffered his first major boo-boo, hitting his head and requiring two staples to close the opening.

It all happened right in front of my eyes, and while I was holding his hand to help him climb down a set of stairs safely.

Even though it was an accident, I still felt horrible since he was in my care and I was helping him down the steps.

So, the next morning, I went to my local pet store and returned home with a Betta fish for him.

Tony turned three on Sunday, which also happened to be the day we had his party with 60-plus of our closest family and friends.

Tony had an absolute blast; running around the house saying hi to everyone, eating, playing with friends and blowing out the candles on his firefighter cake.

The theme of the party was Paw Patrol/Firefighter since Tony is obsessed with both and he couldn’t decide what he wanted.
