The 30th Annual Doo Dah Parade was held this past weekend in Ocean City and Tony and Enzo got to enjoy every minute of it.
The Doo Dah Parade includes floats, classic cars, bands, Santa Claus, grand marshal Mama Dietz (owner of Dietz and Watson) and hundreds of basset hounds.
We went to the parade last year, obviously with just Tony, so this year was fun since Enzo was with us. He sat up in his stroller and watched as the floats and the dogs strolled down the boards.
Every so often he would clap, smile and laugh. Tony sat on the boards, stood with Mommy and asked to pet some of the dogs as they stopped to take a rest.
The minute we reached the 9th St. bridge, Tony began screaming about the ferris wheel and the double shot because he could see them from his car seat. He then asked he if could do the rides.
We kept telling him that the rides were not open and he would have to wait until later in the spring. Unbeknownst to us, the rides were open on Saturday, so Tony got his wish.
As we walked away from the Doo Dah Parade, Tony pointed into the lobby of Playland’s Castaway Cove, saying, “They are open! The rides are open!”
We wandered into the lobby and found that the rides were indeed open for business. So, we purchased a sheet of tickets and let Tony loose on the world.
He enjoyed the helicopters, the ferris wheel, the antique cars, the Rockin’ Tug, the balloons and the firetrucks and motorcycles.
Enzo pretty much slept the entire time Tony did the rides, which was nice.
It was absolutely gorgeous on Saturday, as you can see from the pictures at the bottom of this post, and Tony had trouble leaving OC that day. He kept asking if we could stay. How we did not give in is beyond me because we hate leaving just as much as he does.
After we left the shore, we went to visit friends of our who recently had a baby. As we sat there talking about how Enzo refuses to crawl because he is so lazy, the little stinker got down on all fours and crawled across their family room floor!
He only went a short distance and refused to do it again the rest of the day.
It was not until Sunday that Enzo really got into crawling when we were at Grandmom and Poppi’s house for a BBQ. He crawled all around their family room, being bribed by a toy firetruck.
Now, Enzo will not stop moving. We officially have two mobile boys on our hands. There goes the neighborhood.
