Enzo Can Walk; When He Wants To

Enzo

Earlier this week, Enzo decided that it was time to start walking without holding onto anything! Mommy and daddy coaxed him into taking steps by trying to reach the iPad.

I know, parents these days! We coaxed him into crawling by making him chase after an iPhone that we kept moving out of his reach. Who said technology is bad for us? It helped teach our son how to crawl and now walk!!

As you can see in the video, Enzo took at least three steps, possibly four, before finally giving up.

We have tried to get him to walk since then, but he hasn’t been in the mood. He loves holding onto the couch or edge of the coffee table to get where he needs to go.

He also walks his activity table across the entire family room instead of playing with it, but he will not walk on his own again.

We had a feeling he would walk before his first birthday, but I honestly didn’t think it would come two months prior to the celebration.

Now that he is really mobile, Enzo will chase after Phoebe and pull on her tail or hit her in the head and laugh. She loves it, even though she just stands there are has a look on her face that depicts sheer boredom.

Enzo also moves over to the gate at the bottom of the family room steps, pulls himself up on it, and tries to open it or pull it down so he can get into the kitchen. He’s actually doing that as I write these two sentences.

After Enzo took his first steps the other day, Tony starting saying that Enzo will break his house when he starts walking. Not sure where he got that idea, but Tony has done his fair share of breaking things since he became mobile. He’s probably just worried about sharing his toys. Aren’t we all?
