Tony and Enzo are Growing Up Way Too Fast

IMG_2436

It is a bitter cold Thursday night and the entire family is sick. Between fevers, runny noses, sore throats and upset stomachs, Mommy, Daddy, Tony and Enzo have pretty much run the gamut of illnesses this week.

Enzo has gotten much better, while Tony has gotten worse as the week progressed.

Daddy woke up with a sore throat this morning and Mommy came home from school with a fever.

We decided to get out Tony’s old Pack’n’Play for Enzo to try out tonight. He immediately took to it. We filled it with his toys and a blanket.

He played in there for a little while by himself, until Tony wanted to join in on the fun.

Without hesitation Mommy obliged and put Tony in there with Enzo as you can see from the pictures at the bottom of this post.

The only thing is that Tony simply wanted to go in there to watch the iPad. He really didn’t want to play with his little brother. But, when Enzo reached for a toy he couldn’t get, Tony would hand it to him.

It is hard to believe that Enzo will be seven months in the coming week and Tony will be three in almost one month. It is incredible how quickly these two paesanos are growing up in front of our eyes.

Tony shocks us each day with his ability to hold a coherent conversation and how much he knows. In fact, this morning, he put on one of Mommy’s white headbands and said, “Look Daddy, I am a basketball player!”

How does a two-year-old know that basketball players wear headbands, or sweatbands, when they play the game? I don’t watch basketball, at all. So, he definitely did not pick-up on it around me.

Enzo has started rolling to and from his back to his stomach, constantly takes things out of other people’s hands and reaches for everything within sight.

He loves to take the phone out of your hand and the glasses off your face. I guess I should start wearing contacts more often. The other night, Enzo enjoyed some Pastina during dinner, getting more of it in his hair and on his face than in his mouth.

I know I am not old; I will be 30 in August, but I sure do feel like time has gone by way too fast.

Nicole and I will be married five years in June. We have two handsome and healthy boys and Nicole has been teaching for five years now.

My freelance writing business is going on seven years and Tony will be old enough for pre-school in September.

Boy, time does fly when you are having fun and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
