A ‘Belated’ Thanksgiving Day for the Boys

We know we are more than a month late with this post, but better late than never.

We got to enjoy our first Thanksgiving with Enzo and it was definitely a memorable one. Even though Enzo was cooed over by the family, Tony was still the life of the party.

As usual, Tony refused to eat dinner when we all sat down as a family, but he eventually came to the table to eat a variety of different things, not an entire plate.

Enzo was our own little turkey for the day, getting to try some mashed potatoes at dinner.

Thanksgiving was going off without a hitch until late that night. Tony told Grandmom and Poppi that he wanted to stay at their house for a sleepover.

Tony has never slept anywhere without Mommy and Daddy since he was four months old, so this came as a shock to us.

We obliged, but told him he needed to come home with us first so we could put him in pajamas, get his blanket and a couple of stuffed animals.

Upon returning home, Tony was asleep, so I tried to put him to bed. He immediately woke up and began to cry. He said he wanted to go back to Grandmom and Poppi’s house.

I packed his bag, put his pajamas on and returned to Marlton. We left him there without an issue.

Around midnight Thanksgiving night I received a text from my mom saying, “Dad is on the way home with Tony.”

He did well for an hour or two, but started crying for mommy and daddy so Poppi brought him back home.

When he arrived home, Tony walked upstairs, climbed into our bed, kissed mommy on the head and said, “I’m home. Goodnight.”

Tony then asked to be put into his crib so he could go to sleep.

All in all, Thanksgiving was a success, except for the bump in the road that night with Tony’s sleepover idea.

We have included some pics from Turkey Day for you to enjoy.
