A Pre-Christmas Visit to Storybook Land for Tony and Enzo

IMG_1759

A couple of weeks before Christmas, Grandmom and Poppi asked if they could take the boys to Storybook Land.

We arrived to a parking lot full of cars not long after the park opened. The place was decorated for the season, but none of the lights were lit just yet.

Upon entering the park, we heard a recording that said Santa Claus would make an appearance at his house in the park at 5pm to wave his magical wand and turn all the lights on for the guests.

This was Tony’s second visit to Storybook Land and Enzo’s first. Tony went on the carousel with Poppi, the old-fashioned cars with Mommy and Daddy, through the “Alice and Wonderland” maze with Grandmom, rode the construction trucks with Mommy and enjoyed the train with Mommy, Daddy and Poppi.

Enzo slept the entire car ride to Storybook Land and the entire time we were at the park. He did missed the entire day, but what can you expect from a five-month-old?

Tony loved every minute of his visit to Storybook Land even though it is quite cold.

A couple of minutes prior to 5, we moved to the area of the park where Santa’s house was located. We waited for Santa to appear so he could activate the lights.

The park has more than one million Christmas lights. Tony sat on Daddy’s shoulders waiting for Santa and he fell asleep a couple of times, but was able to see Santa turn on all the lights.

We left the park after the lights came on because Tony was exhausted.

We traveled into Hammonton, the Italian capital of New Jersey, to visit Bagliani’s market and then have dinner at Illiano’s just up the block.

The night ended in disappointment as the Eagles season came to an end with an embarrassing loss to the Redskins, but the day was still a ton of fun.
