Our First Day of Dueling Doctor Appointments

Today marks the first time that we will take both Tony and Enzo to the doctor at the same time. When we came home from the hospital with Enzo, we took him to the pediatrician’s office a couple of days later for a check-up.

We left Tony at home that day with Nonna so there would be no distractions during Enzo’s first visit.

This time around things are a little bit different. Enzo is due for his one-month check-up and Tony is going for a pre-op visit. Tony will be having eye surgery early in the month of September to open a blocked tear duct in his right eye.

I will be honest, I am a little nervous about the dueling appointments today. Tony, like many children, is not a fan of going to the doctor. He and I went to the office last week to pick-up a form for Enzo and he freaked before I told him we were only there to get paperwork.

I am hoping that being with Enzo will help Tony stay calm during the visit as he is checked for overall health prior to his surgery. Then, I hope Tony will help us soothe Enzo as he is checked for his one-month milestone and is given a couple of shots.

Today will definitely be interesting, but in the end, I hope that it goes off without a hitch. This will be a big change for Tony, who is used to going to doctor appointments for himself and no one else. I wonder if he will be able to sit through Enzo’s as well.

I will definitely be providing an update to today’s visit to the doctor’s office, no matter the outcome of the visit for both boys. Let’s just hope that today is not a rough start to what should be a fun holiday weekend.
