“Uptown Funk You Up, Uptown Funk You Up”

If anyone out there reading this post is not in-tune with today’s music, the title of this post is a lyric from a new Bruno Mars song. It has become wildly popular, even with Tony.

Why does Tony love this song?

Well, Mommy loves to play music on her phone each night after dinner while we clean-up. She either plays a Taylor Swift song or “Uptown Funk.” Mommy and Tony dance in the kitchen and even sing along when he knows the words.

So, you might be wondering why I am writing about a Bruno Mars song and what it has to do with Tony.

On Sunday night, Mommy was with Enzo in his room changing a dirty diaper and I was in the kitchen trying to corral Tony and get him ready for bed.

Tony sat down at the kitchen table and began to sing the lyrics from the Bruno Mars song, except I heard something other than the lyrics.

The way Tony was singing the song, it definitely did not sound like he was saying “Uptown Funk you up, Uptown Funk you up.”

Instead, I could have sworn I heard him say, “I’m gonna f*** you up, I’m gonna f*** you up.”

I instantly began yelling at him to stop saying that, but he just stared at me like I was crazy. By the look on his face, I knew I must have heard wrong.

I asked Tony to repeat what he was singing so I could listen closely. He was, in fact, singing the “Uptown Funk” lyrics from Bruno Mars.

Even Nicole, who was in Enzo’s room, heard the exchange and thought Tony was making an inappropriate comment to me.

We definitely had a good laugh once we figured out what Tony was actually saying and he still sings that song, but now he does it with a grin on his face.
